How to Fix “Lost Recovery Partition” on Mac 2018 and Newer
While you can completely do it yourself to save your Mac running T2 chip from being lost Recovery partition at home, but it’s a little expensive due to having to use some support tools. Perhaps, this post is mor compatible for the store.
- An USB-C to USB-C cable for data transaction. The Apple cable attached to the device cannot be used. You can buy it on eBay or Amazon
- Another MacBook with USB-C port
Once you meet requirements, follow these steps below to fix lost recovery mode.
Step 1: On your Mac that has lost partition Recovery, press the T key at startup until the screen shows up a thunder icon.
Step 2: Connect two Mac devices through the USB-C cable you prepared
Step 3: In this case, the Mac you prepared will recognize the lost Recovery partition as an external drive. All you need is to go to Disk Utility and formart the drive of your “lost recovery” Mac. Remeber to set the format as APFS
Step 4: Unplug the cable, press Command + R keys to reinstall MacOS from Internet.
