Steps To Install MacOS 10.15 Catalina Beta On Mac
Before getting started, you should make sure if your Mac is supported to get the MacOS 10.15 update. Here is a list of compatible Mac devices:
- MacBook Pro (mid 2012 and later)
- MacBook Air (mid 2012 and later)
- MacBook (early 2015 and newer)
- iMac (late 2012 or newer)
- iMac Pro (2017 or newer)
- Mac Pro (late 2013 or newer)
- Mac Mini (late 2012 or newer)
Since it’s still the beta version, so there are still many bugs and errors. It’s not suitable for daily use. You should only install this new MacOS to experience the new features and tweak somethings. Remember to backup all the data first since the process will wipe everything on your hard drive.
To update your Mac to MacOS 10.15, follow these steps below:
Step 1: First, you need to download Profile Developer from this link: macOSDeveloperBetaAccessUtility.dmg
Step 2: Once done, run macOSDeveloperBetaAccessUtility.dmg file and then continue to run macOSDeveloperBetaAccessUtility.pkg to install Profile Developer into your Mac.
Step 3: All you need then is to click on Next, and enter your Mac password to install the Profile.
Step 4: When the installation is completed, the Software Update window will show up on the screen. Just wait for MacOS 10.15 update and click on Upgrade Now button.
Step 5: Wait for your Mac to start downloading the update.
Step 6: Once done, the “ Install MacOS 10.15 beta” screen will show up. Simply click on Continue.
Step 7: Select your Mac hard drive and click on Install. After click on it, there might a be popup window, saying that some apps might not on MacOS 10.15 version.
Step 8: Click on Continue and wait about 10 minutes for the process to complete. Click on Restart so that your Mac finishes the upgrade.
